University Leaders Celebrate Lunar New Year With Students

Four campuses of SYSU prepared sumptuous nianfan for the students who stayed at the university during the Lunar New Year festival at 11:00 am on Feb 12th. The University attached great importance to the nianfan prepared for the students, and the University leaders visited the staying students and dined with them.

Party secretary Zheng Detao visited students on the Zhuhai campus, vice-secretary Zhu Kongjun and vice-president Xu Anlong visited students on the south campus, vice-president Chen Chunsheng the east campus, vice-president Li Mengfeng the north campus. The University leaders had dinners with students to celebrate the Lunar New Year. In addition to the nianfan, presiding staff of different administration departments, vice party secretaries of different Schools and Departments, and counselors also attended the feast.

Nearly 5000 students had stayed at the University this winter vacation, and about 700 of them had taken part in the dinner event. University took measures to ensure the students an auspicious Spring Festival at the University. Aside from the sumptuous nianfan, the University also prepared delicious dumplings for the students at the student canteen on the New Year’s Day, organized festival activities to enrich the students’ holiday, and provided subsidies for the students from economically disadvantaged families. According to source, the University will call on all the administration units to be on duty, and demanded teachers on duty to remain at their posts to ensure the normal life of the students who are staying.
