2010 “German Universities Day” took place on the SYSU’s South Campus

The afternoon of March 19, the opening ceremony for 2010 German universities day took place in the Swasey Hall in the south campus of SYSU. Deputy-president Xu Ningsheng present at the opening ceremony and gave talk. German universities day is sponsored by the GuangzhouInformation Center of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and cosponsored by the international cooperation and exchange center of SYSU, which provided the chances for teachers and students from universities of Guangdong province to carry out face-to face communication. German universities day had been held twice at our school, one in 2006 and the other in 2008, as it’s main purpose is to assist our school, German universities and relevant units had communicated and cooperated with one another. It provided information about German universities for teachers and students of SYSU as well as others. Considered the greatest scale in the past five years, this year 17 universities from German haved participated in the activities.

Prior to the event, president assistant Wei Haiming greeted the delegates from universities League from Germany, Bavaria, Jena University of Applied Sciences, Free University of Berlin, Esslingen University of Applied Sciences, Frankfurt Financial Management Institute, Freiberg University of Technology, the German Academic Exchange Center Information Center, Guangzhou and other universities and presented the overview of international cooperation and communication and expressed the intentions of carrying out further communications and cooperations with German famous universities. Meanwhile delegates from German universities also visited some departments of our school to initiate further cooperation.
