The Third Meeting for the First Female College Student Forums “New intellectuals at University and their dream” was held at SYSU

April 22nd, the Third Meeting for the First Female College Student Forums “New intellectuals at University and their dream”, held for the first time, was taken place on the south campus of SYSU. Approximately 300 of people including Liu Lanni, Vice president of Women’s Federation of Guangzhou City, Ling Jingmin, Vice president of Women’s Federation of Guangzhou City, Li Ping, Vice secretary of Party Community of SYSU, leaders from various units, experts, and students representatives from Guangzhou attended the forum.

In the forum, Li Ping, Vice secretary of Party Community of SYSU, Professor Xia Jimei from the Foreign Languages Teaching Centre, and Wang Xiaodi, Vice president of the Guangzhou Repertory Theatre, started with the term “intellectual”, carried out discussions regarding the current mentality of female college students and their paths to success. Li Ping urged female students to find an orientation which will favor their development and that they should keep filtering their values throughout different stages of their life, making best decisions and create wonderful life. Professor Xia Jimei held that female students are capable, confident, and independent. Therefore they could be equal to male students on every aspect. Started off with choices in different periods, Wang Xiaodi stressed that female students should first be “woman”, then “super woman”, balancing between career and relations.

After the forum, Ling Jingmin gave a speech and held that the Women’s Federation will actively make proposals for the female students to foster good social environment for growth and success; to do a good job whipping up public opinion and offer female college students with more humane care.
