The selection work of Sun Yat-sen University for 2011 applicants from Taiwan has started in Lingnan Hall of South Campus on June 2nd. This selection for outstanding high school graduates from Taiwan is the second time for the university since its initial successful selection in 2010.

In accordance with the spirit of Ministry of Education, the set-up criteria of Subject Scores of University Entrance Exam for qualifying Taiwanese applicants are lowered. Applicants whose scores reach the standard of ‘Above Average’(which means they are one of the top 25% among students who have taken the exams) are welcomed to apply for Sun Yat-sen University. Based on the estimation of 2011 enrollment, 45 majors have been opened to students from Taiwan, who are also permitted to choose maximum four majors due to their own interests.

This year witnesses 32 students from Taiwan area applying for recommendations. After examining relevant materials, 28 students are eligible for interviews while 23 of them actually came for interviews on the day.
