SYSU Students Dance Together With Lazars

Guangzhou, December 28, 2009 (Yangcheng Evening News): She, in a wheelchair, dances gracefully with open arms, as if she has a pair of wings. He, in the light and full of energy, raises his only single-arm high, just like a giant. They, who are performijust the other day, Guangdong 1st University Charity Concert with “Sing the Youth, Walk with Gratitude” as the theme took place at Xiong Delong Center of SYSU. The creative dance by the lazars shocked the audience.

The concert was hosted by the Guangdong HanDA Rehabilitation and Welfare Association and co-hosted by the Music Association of the East Campus of SYSU as well as SYSU SIFE Team. It aims to appeal to public concern for the lazars for the sake of love.at the party, Pan Ruoming, member of the Leprosy Mission International, and Hong Zhenxing, vice Chairman of Singapore Association-Guangzhou Branch, shared their feelings, experiences and moving stories during their participation in HanDa volunteering and charity activities. With their own experiences, they intend to infleunce people’s perceptions about lazars so as to radicate the rooted discrimination.
