Recruitment of Volunteers for Asian Games at SYSU Launched

On the evening of the Dec.27th, the launching ceremony for the recruitment of volunteers for Asian Games at SYSU and 2009 advanced individual volunteer service award meeting were held on the South Campus of SYSU. An Jianguo, Deputy-minister of volunteers of the organizing committee of the 16th Asian Games and Deputy-secretary of Communist League of Guangzhou, Ye Xingren, Minister of Youth Ministry of Communist Youth League, Huang Shan, Secretary of Youth League of SYSU and Chen Xi, Deputy-secretary of Youth League of SYSU touched the starter together, marking the start off of the volunteer recruitment for Asian Games at SYSU . From now on, students could resister via the web site (http://yyzyz.sysu.edu.cn).

At the meeting, 14 individual volunteer were awarded the honor of “advanced individual award of SYSU in 2009”. Huang Shan had reviewed the acheivements of the school volunteers over the past year, urging students to “serve the community with earnest”. Chen Xi presented the the current state of recruitment and training of volunteers for Asian Games. More than 500 delegations of volunteers and students had taken part in the meeting.
