Students of Sun Yat-sen University Achieved Success in China Regional Final of the 2012 Global Social Venture Competition

The China Regional Final of 2012 Global Social Venture Competition was held in Beijing on February 26. Two teams from SYSU managed to be top eight while team ‘Fraternity and Motivation’ won the Award of Best Application with its project Plan for Water Pollution Control of Rural Areas and Recycle of Plant Waste. ‘Green Originality’, the only undergraduates team also had an outstanding performance and entered into the final eight with the project MOSA Technique for Sludge Reduction. The members of two teams come respectively from the School of Environment and the Business School.

GSVC(Global Social Venture Competition), a contest jointly organized by world top business schools, aimed to popularize the consciousness about social ventures to youth and various business organizations and cultivate more social entrepreneurs. The involved schools in other countries include the Harvard Business School, Stanford Business School, the Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania, London Business School, Haas School of Business of the University of California 's Berkeley Campus, Columbia Business School and so on.
