Upholding Honesty Upholding Virtue - My Road to Knowledge Speech Contest of Self-cultivation Program of Philosophy Department Was Held Successfully

The final round of the second speech contest of Philosophy Department was held successfully in South Campus on the afternoon of Apr7th.
The contest, which was themed as “Upholding Honesty Upholding Virtue---My Road to Knowledge”, was an important part of the Self-cultivation Program of Philosophy Department. Twenty contestants from Zhuhai Campus and South Campus, with their outstanding performance, entered the final and shared their thoughts on knowledge and self-cultivation, fully exhibiting their confidence in speaking, trait of thinking and positive attitudes. In the end, Li Xiao from Grade 2011, Department of Philosophy, won the first prize, and nine students including Zhang Li, Su Xingchi, Yang Xuan, etc., won the second prize, the third prize and winning prize.
The judges of the contest are Li Shanru, the Secretary of Party Branch in Philosophy Department, Wang Yanfang, the Deputy Secretary, Zou Dan, the Director of Office of School Youth League Committee, Assistant Professor Zhou Chunjianand teacher Shen Yuping from the department, and 6 student representatives. Prof. Zhou Chunjiancommented on the contest. The judges and honored guests bestowed the awards on winning students.
The contest was organized by the student union of Philosophy Department, with the full support of all the faculty and students. The contest, facing all the undergraduates in the department, preliminarily started at the end of March in two campuses simultaneously. The theme of this year’s contest was cited from The Book of Rites: The Doctrine of Mean and The Great Learning, hoping to involve students in deep introspection on their knowledge learning and self-cultivation of virtue.
