One Student of Our University Achieved the 1st “Discover China Li Ji Archaeology Scholarship”

The outcome of the 1st “Discover China Li Ji Archaeology Scholarship” was announced in March. Postgraduate student Xiao Dashun, majoring in Cultural Heritage and Museology in the Department of Anthropology of SYSU, had the honor to win the Field Group Scholarship. He attended the award ceremony and youth archeology salon in Beijing, which were successfully held in Mr Li Ji’s alma mater, Tsinghua University.

It is said that Xiao Dashun completed his undergraduate studies of Archeology in the Anthropology Department, and came back to SYSU for further study after working in the Archaeology Institute of Shenyang for six years. Deputy Director of the Anthropology Department, Professor Zheng Junlei said, “As the supervisor of Xiao Dashun, I really feel proud of him. Furthermore, postgraduate student Shi Tao of Peking University, one of the winners of the Academic Group Scholarship, also majored in Archaeology of SYSU for undergraduate degree, which fully proves the academic quality of the Archaeology Department of SYSU, and that’s good news.” It’s also said that the winners will be invited to attend “Discover China Cultural Expedition”, and will carry out academic investigations in Shanxi and Henan in June.
