Between May 23rd to 25th, the representatives of the postgraduates voluntary teaching groups from 16 universities, departed from the places where they were carrying out voluntary teaching - Xinjiang Province, Xizang Province, Ningxia Province, Shanxi Province, Sichuan Province etc., and came to the side of the beautiful Wuxian Lake in Chengjiang, Yunnan Province to attend the “Caring Action - Amway Rainbow Project Symposium & Forum on Rainbow Voluntary Teaching and Innovation in Volunteer Service”.
Hitherto, the “Amway Rainbow Education Aid Project” has functioned for 10 years. Starting from sponsoring the volunteers from Fudan University to teach voluntarily in Xiji, Ningxia Province in 2002, Amway (China) has gradually extended the influence of the Rainbow Education Aid Foundation to more cooperating universities and finally, in the collaboration with Central Communist Youth League, carried out the “Rainbow Education Aid Project”. Till May 2012, Amway (China) has invested 29,810,000 yuan in this project. Up to 4281 postgraduates have volunteered in the education aid in over 300 primary schools and middle schools in 98 poverty-stricken countries in mid-west China, having benefited more than 800,000 children.
May 24th, No.4 Middle School of Chengjiang, Yunnan. Wu Tao, a member of Sun Yat-sen University Voluntary Teaching Group in Yunnan, was teaching Class 209 of Grade Seven in quality education class - “Exploring the South Polar”.
