Contestants of Our University Won the Championship of the South China Division of FLTRP-AMAZON Cup National English Debate Competition

The South China Division of the 16th FLTRP-AMAZON Cup National English Debate Competition was completed on June 10, Huang Jingwen (Law School, grade 2009) and Wang Xi (Guanghua School of Stomatology, grade 2009), who were members of our university English debate team, obtained historic achievement on behalf of SYSU. They were honored with the championship of South China division.

46 teams from Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian, Guizhou, and Hainan participated in this contest. Going through the intense struggle, contestants of our university won the first place, South China Agricultural University obtained the second place, Guangzhou University and Fuzhou University were placed the third. It is reported that this competition has been successfully held for 15 years, and there are more than 200 contestants this year. For South China Universities, it is a national competition with the most contestants, highest level and most extensive influence. The winners will go to Beijing in June for the national final.
