GSVC is a social venture competition of public welfare nature. It was initiated by the Hass School of Business at UC Berkeley in 1999. After over a decade's development, it has become a long-standing and influential competition jointly supported by globally top business schools and social organizations. The influence of GVSC lies in that it aims to foster business leaders and practitioners who are able to set up social ventures. GSVC has witnessed how young entrepreneurs make their dreams come true. Their enterprises are active in various fields, interpreting the concept of the combination between social effectiveness and economic effectiveness. In recent years, these social ventures have covered broader areas, including education, non-profit organization, community development, financial service, environment and science, medical service, etc.
