SYSU student team wins award in Hydro Asia 2016

The Tenth Hydro Asia was held in Daejeon, South Korea on August 15-20, 2016. Over 150 scholars and students from 21 universities and research institutes in countries like China, Korea, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, India, Mongolia, Vietnam, Nepal, Britain, France, Germany, Spain, Poland and Romania attended the meeting.

Under the guidance of Professor Xiaohong Chen and Associate Professor Xinjun Tu, PhD candidates Yanhui Zheng, Shenlin Li, and Zhihua Zhu from the School of Geography and Planning at Sun Yat-sen University won the Excellent Award during the Hydro Asia 2016. In the competition, the international team led by Yanhui Zheng won the Excellent Award (only three teams won this award). And at the same time, Yanhui Zheng also received the Highest Award among all the participants.

Hydro Asia was initiated in 2007 by National University of Singapore, Kyoto University, Chuo University, Incheon National University, Seoul National University, Dong-A University, Asian Institute of Technology, University of Da Nang, Beijing University of Technology, Tianjin University, etc, with the aim to solve the water security problems in Asia monsoon regions through international cooperation and discussions.
