The HSI Case Competition 2017 was organized by Chinese University of Hong Kong and sponsored by Hang Lung Properties. It attracted 63 teams from well-known universities in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and Singapore. After the Preliminary Round and the Semi-final, three Hong Kong teams and two mainland China teams entered the Grand Final to compete for the top three.

The topic of this competition was to evaluate Hang Lung’s customer service standard and suggest creative ways for the company to reach a higher level in this area. It was related to marketing, strategic management, service operations and other fields. It mainly checked the creativity and feasibility of the business proposals on the theme of enhancing customer relationship management. Participants were required to present their proposals in English within 15 minutes and answered the judges’ questions on the spot within 10 minutes. The four SYSU entrants put up customer service innovation strategies, which was favored deeply by the judges. Finally, they won the second runner-up and were awarded HK$5,000. This fully demonstrated the professional ability and innovative awareness of SYSU students.
