SYSU Students Win the First Prize in the National Nursing Undergraduates Invitational Tournament of Clinical Comprehensive Skills

On April 28, 2019, the National Nursing Undergraduates Invitational Tournament of Clinical Comprehensive Skills was held in Shanghai. It was hosted by the National Nursing Teaching Advisory Board of Ministry of Education, and undertaken by Shanghai University of Medicine & Health Sciences. Participants from 18 nursing colleges and schools nationwide attended the competition. Ye Xiangting, Sun Yanze and Hu Junqiu, three senior undergraduates from the School of Nursing at Sun Yat-sen University, won the first prize, which was the highest honor of the competition.

This National Invitational Tournament is an implementation of the Ministry of Education’s instructions on undergraduate education, and also an inspection of the teaching quality at nursing colleges and schools. This clinical comprehensive skills competition will further promote the nursing practical teaching reform and innovation, promote the integration between advanced nursing education and clinical practice, enhance the nursing undergraduates’ basic theory, basic knowledge and basic skills, and improve their comprehensive clinical skills, critical thinking, humanistic care and team spirit.
