SYSU Lending Supports to the Authorship of the Asia Games Training Textbooks
In order to better carry out the training efforts for the Asian Games, the Guangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee (GAGOC) organized relevant experts to prepare a set of generic training materials for the Asian Games training, and held a launching ceremony in Guangzhou Asian Games Sports Culture Center on 9 December. The training materials consist of 5 textbooks, and SYSU are responsible for the compilation of 3 of them, namely, Feeling Asia, Modern Etiquette, and Guangzhou Asian Games Volunteers: A General Reader, while Sun Yat-sen University Press is responsible for the publication of Modern Etiquette, and Guangzhou Asian Games Volunteers: A General Reader. Present in the launching ceremony were Mr. Xu Ruisheng, deputy mayor of Guangzhou Government and vice secretary-general of the Standing Committee of GAGOC, Mr. Zhu Kongjun, vice secretary of CPC Committee of SYSU, and Mr. Huang Shangli, chairman of Guangdong Press Inc.
Vice Mayor Xu Ruisheng delivered a speech in the event, expressing sincere appreciations for SYSU and SYSU Press for their strong support to the authorship and publication of the training materials, which would play an important role in the promotion and dissemination of knowledge and culture of the Asian Games.
Mr Zhu Kongjun said in the speech that, it was SYSU’s honor and responsibility to directly witness and get deeply engaged in the Asian Games, and as always, SYSU would continue lending supports to the preparation of the Asian Games.
According to sources, the writing of generic training materials of the Asian Games was one of the important cooperation projects between SYSU and GAGOC, to which SYSU attached great importance. With Liang Qinyin, executive deputy secretary of CPC Committee of SYSU, in charge, the project was organized by Xu Yong, deputy dean of the School of Business. With the one-year efforts by related experts of SYSU – Li Ningli, Tan Zhikun, Xu Hong, and Zhang Baohua, the generic training materials finally came out for publication.
