On the afternoon of March 24, the SYSU committee held a meeting to convey the spirit of the Fourth Session of the 11^th National People's Congress (NPC) and the Fourth Session of the 11^th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) in Swasey Hall. Professor Wang Xunzhang, SYSU representative of NPC, Professor Ou Hong, Liu Xin and Mao Yunshi, members of CPPCC, conveyed the spirit of the National People’s Congress and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. The meeting was hosted by Li Ping, the Deputy Secretary of SYSU party committee. Zheng Detao, the Secretary of SYSU party committee, was present at the meeting and delivered a speech.

The principals of secondary party committee (General Party Branch) and party working committee, the members of the United Front Work Department, the deputies to the People’s Congress at all levels, the members of CPPCC, government counselors, the members of Research Institute of Culture and History, the principals of democratic parties and overseas Chinese federation, the vice-chairman, executive directors and directors of Guangdong Intellectuals Association, the chairmen of Labor Union of different departments and the heads of the faculty congress were present at the meeting.
