On the afternoon of October the 14^th, President of the Universityof Birmingham David Eastwood visited SYSU. President Huang Daren, the Assistant Principal Wei Haiming and the Dean of School of Foreign Languages Chang Cehnguang met with the delegation.

President Huang Daren introduced the history of SYSU, discipline construction, teaching and scientific research to the visiting guests. He said that SYSU is energetically promoting international cooperation and introducing new teaching mode and resources. Through strengthening discipline construction, more talents are cultivated. President Eastwood said that the Universityof Birmingham and SYSU are both world famous universities with a long history. Both sides are cooperating in many fields. He hopes to enhance the cooperation and extend it to economic management, public management linguistics. President Huang Daren expressed his sincere hope to enhance both sides’ cooperation and suggested that collaboration can be carried out in strong disciplines such as medicine and historical anthropology.

Soon after that, the delegation paid visit to Lingnan College, School of Government and School of Foreign Languages.
