SYSU Vice Secretary Li Ping Attends the 2nd DPRK-China University President Forum

Invited by both Central Committee of DPRK-China Friendship Association and the Korean Ministry of Education, Liping, Vice secretary of the SYSU Party committee attended the 2nd DPRK-China University President Forum in Pyongyang during September 13th and 15th, and Li also visited the Kim Il Sung Comprehensive University and Pyongyang University of Foreign Studies. Choe Tae Bok, secretary of the North Korean Workers' party, met with and gave a banquet in honor of Chinese delegation of university presidents. Liu Jinghui, secretary-general of China Scholarships Council, and Xu Yongji, Deputy Director of International Cooperation and Exchange of China Ministry of Education was also invited to attend the forum.

Leaders from 13 universities of China, like Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Jilin University, Harbin Institute of Technology University of China, and leaders from more than 10 universities of DPRK, like Kim Il Sung University, Kim making industrial universities, University of Science, Pyongyang University of Foreign Studies, also attended the forum. During the forum, both China and DPRK delegates spoke highly of the DPRK-China friendship cultivated carefully by the older generation of both sides. They expressed the wish to further expand the communication and cooperation between universities, and looked forward to hold DPRK-China University President Forum every year, so as to make it an important platform for communication and cooperation between China and DPRK.
