On August 25, SYSU officially logged into Apple’s iTunes U, the world’s most popular online educational catalog, whose downloads have topped 300 million, to distribute digital educational resources to students, faculty and lifelong learners around the world. Joint efforts from various units such as the President’s Office, Publicity Department, School of Communication and Design, Network and Information Technology Center make it possible for the university to active its iTunes U site, which offers free downloads for learners over the world including teaching materials, lectures, language courses, campus news. Users can download iTunes U audio and video offerings, or subscribe to entire courses and have new items downloaded automatically as soon as they become available.

"iTunes U is a well-known virtual educational platform. Many world famous universities, such as Harvard, Oxford, MIT, Stanford etc. have successively joined it. Driven by the new media technology development trend, our university will also take initiative to promote our global image and status in this international education community", said PhD.
