The second Chinese-Korean University Presidents Forum was held in Changchun, Jilin from 9-10 June. Vice President Yan Guangmei of SYSU attended the forum and gave a speech on “Exchange and Cooperation of Sino-Korean Universities on the Background of the internationalization of Higher Education——Illustrated with SYSU”. Further communications were also made between SYSU and many universities of Korea.

More than 120 leaders and representatives from the Ministry of Education of the PRC, China Scholarship Council, the Confucius Institute Headquarters, the Korean Ministry of Education, Science and Technology as well as 22 Chinese universities and 19 Korean universities attended the forum which is hosted by the Ministry of Education of the PRC and organized by Jilin University. Chinese and Korean representatives also exchanged ideas on “Challenges and Opportunities faced by Chinese and Korean Universities in the internationalization of Higher Education”.

Taking this opportunity, SYSU reviewed and discussed the cooperation with Yonsei University, Yeungnam University, Hallym University, Busan National University. In addition, noticeable results had achieved through the discussions on high-level visits and credit transfer with Pohang University of Science and Technology, Sogang University and Korea University.
