Cyber Space Turns Black and White
Don’t suspend your eyes or monitors of your computers. Most websites’ homepage come up only black and white today as it is a mourning day for victims of China's earthquake in Yushu, which was hit by a magnitude 6.9 quake on April 14. 2064 people were killed, 175 were missing, and 12135 were injured. Hence, the Chinese government pronounces April 21 to be the national mourning day for the victims of the earthquake.
All the recreation would be suspended on this day and most of the websites turn black and white, such as BAIDU.COM, QQ.COM, SINA.COM and RENREN.COM.
People have different reactions toward this.”It’s the only thing we can do for them.”MR Fang, one of my flat mates says, “It’s meaningful and worth doing.” “’Black and white’ is nothing serious, we should respect the victims in that disaster”. However, quite a few citizens disagree with that and regard it as a formality. It’s a problem worth chewing.
However, the rescue work which is the top priority is proceeding with, argument and others are not important. What we should do is to contribute our efforts to the disaster areas.
