The School of Environment Held Exchange Event for “Asian Program for Incubation of Environmental Leaders”
Co-organized by SYSU, Tokyo University and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, the exchange event for “Asian Program for Incubation of Environmental Leaders” took place at SYSU the other day. Environmental experts, from Hong Kong Government Environment Protection Department, Hong Kong Baptist University, Japanese Tokyo University as well as School of Environmental Science and Engineering of SYSU, made special lectures on the environment pollution in the Pearl River Delta Region, the quality required of environmental leaders and other problems respectively. The participating postgraduate students from the above three universities also discussed and made their environment protection planning. Furthermore, they carried out field work in Shenzhen, Dongguan, Foshan and other places to investigate the actual situation of environment protection by the local enterprises and engineering.
In recent years, the Pearl River Delta Region have been confronted with serious environmental pollution problems, which aroused due attention of scholars at home and abroad. Focusing on the current environment situation, the event aims to cultivate a group of Asian leaders who can solve these problems through extensive international communications and discussions.
