World Renowned Master of Planning Pasty Healey Visited SYSU
On March 3, Ms. Pasty Healey, The master of planning, and also the academician of British Academy, professor emeritus of the School of Architecture, Planning & Landscape at Newcastle University, visited SYSU in the accompany of the academician of the Chinese Academy of Science ,Professor Ye Jiaan from the University of Hong Kong, and gave a lecture on “The contribution of planning practice to promote the building of public sector” in Huaishi Hall for the teachers and students from the Geography and Planning School of SYSU. Teachers, students and staff from South China University of Technology, South China Normal University, Guangzhou University and Bureau of Urban Planning of Guangzhou, etc were invited to participate in the meeting.
Professor Pasty Healey is a world renowned specialist in strategic spatial planning and city reform strategy. She was recognized as an honorary member by the Association of European Schools of Planning (AESOP)in 2004 for her outstanding contribution to the field of planning, becoming the second to receive such an honor. In 2007, she received The Royal Town Planning Institute’s Gold Medal Award, and in 2009 she was awarded Ordinary Fellowship from the British Academy.
