December 11, "Fran Cup" - Guangdong province’s First Invitational Tournament for the Academic Reports of Post-graduate Physics, sponsored by the Guangdong Polytechnic School of Physics and school of Physics, SYSU took place in the Swasey Hall. The Secretary-General of Guangdong Polytechnic School of Physics Mr. He Zhenhui, the Party secretary of school of Physics Mr. Ouyang Kequan and others attended the tournament. 13 teams from 6 Universities including Sun Yat-sen University, South China University of Technology attended the invitational tournament. Juries were Famous professors from different universities.

After a day’s intense competition, Xing Xiangjun, the PhD of our school, took the first prize. Zeng Huajian, Wu haoyi took the second prize. Liang Wenyao, Xu Yi, Zhu Heng and Wang Yuqing took the third prize.
