In a group of 5, the Thai Consul-General in Guangzhou Pisanu Suvanajata visited SYSU on the morning of December 15, President Huang Daren, Assistant of the President Wei Minghai, Deputy Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Department Xu Yao, had a cordial talk with the guests.

Consul-General Suvanajata believed that higher education cooperation and exchanges is an important part in the promotion of Sino-Thai relations, and he will propagandize high-quality educational resources of Sun Yat-sen University actively to the Thai nationals, and spare no effort in promoting the cooperation between universities in Thailand and SYSU. President Huang Daren expressed his anticipation of Thai students undertaking medicine, business and Chinese studies, etc at SYSU. During his stay, Consul-General Suvanajata visited the Thai students studying in SYSU. There are currently 59 Thai students studying at the university.

Consul-General Suvanajata took office in October of 2009, and this is his first visit to SYSU after assuming the post.
