The "Brightness Tour in 100 Cities" commenced in Shenzhen on April 13, in a collaborative effort between Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center (ZOC) of Sun Yat-sen University and Shenzhen Eye Hospital. Utilizing the 5G smart ophthalmic patrol vehicles as its platform, the program aims to conduct high-quality eye health services in 100 cities across the country. It is part of the centenary celebration of Sun Yat-sen University.

The preparations for the "Brightness Tour in 100 Cities" started from last November on Guangzhou International Bio Island. After over 140 days of trial operations, it officially departed from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to embark on its nationwide journey.
The tour endeavors to expand eye health screenings, consultations, and surgeries nationwide, enhance eye health technology training, optimize diagnostic and treatment standards, promote collaborative research on eye diseases, drive scientific innovation, and establish a comprehensive ophthalmology cooperation alliance. Moreover, it emphasizes the dissemination and promotion of eye health knowledge to raise public awareness of eye health, so as to prevent and reduce the occurrence of eye diseases.
ZOC has installed three 5G smart ophthalmic patrol vehicles that are equipped with electronic instruments, capable of meeting the needs of eye examinations for different demographics and scenarios.
In the future, ZOC will continue to provide high-quality eye health services to the elderly and children across different regions of China. Using the 5G smart ophthalmic patrol vehicles as a new intelligent medical platform, this tour aims to establish a collaborative network of medical services covering medical treatment, education, research, and prevention in partnership with local medical institutions and experts nationwide.
