On June 24-27, the SYSU 2014 Graduation and Degree Conferring Ceremony is being held in K.K. Leung Hall on South Campus. The ceremony consists of 16 sessions, and an alumnus or alumna is invited to give a speech in each session.

Mr. Cai Jiahua studied for his B.A. in Department of Chinese from 1984 to 1988 and EMBA in Sun Yat-sen Business School from 2007 to 2010. He is now Deputy Director of Office of Aiding Tibet and Xinjiang of Guangdong Province, Leader of the Seventh Batch of Aiding Tibet Work Team of Guangdong Province, Deputy Secretary of Linzhi Prefecture and Executive Deputy Commissioner of Administrative Office of Linzhi Prefecture.

Mr. Cai Jiahua said that it was a great honor for him to come back to the alma mater to share his work experience in Tibet. President Xu Ningsheng invited him during their meeting in Linzhi last August.

For Mr. Cai Jiahua, the harsh living environment on the plateau might affect the length of life, but it will increase the depth and thickness of life. The aiding Tibet experience is the most splendid chapter in his life journey.

As Dr. Sun Yat-sen told us to work “for the benefit of our society, for the glory of our nation and our family”, we should bear social responsibilities and choose our life paths with wisdom.
