At the opening ceremony of the International Medical Center, Chen Yanming, the hospital's president, said that as Shenzhen grows into a truly international city, its healthcare system must adapt to serve an expanding international population.

The new International Medical Center serves as a comprehensive, one‑stop platform tailored specifically for international patients. By integrating domestic and overseas medical resources, it delivers seamless outpatient, inpatient, and health management services. Conveniently situated along Futian's central axis, the hospital is easily accessible from key transport hubs, including Huanggang and Futian checkpoints, Futian Railway Station, and Bao'an International Airport.

With expertise drawn from leading institutions in Sweden, France, Germany, the United States, Australia and Hong Kong, the center provides multidisciplinary, high‑quality care. Its dual‑track model combines general and specialist services, supporting treatments in orthopedics, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, oncology prevention, and cancer therapy.

The center aims to deliver high-quality general and specialized medical services tailored to international patients.

In addition to clinical care, the center works closely with both domestic and international insurers, enabling payment through commercial or international medical insurance schemes. Services include personalized health screenings, advanced diagnostics, multidisciplinary team (MDT) evaluations for complex cases, and international remote consultations. The facility also connects patients with top specialists from 10 affiliated hospitals within the Sun Yat‑sen University network, supported by overseas telemedicine capabilities. All services are offered in both English and Chinese.

The center offers bilingual service and works closely with both domestic and international insurers.

According to hospital leadership, the International Medical Center will place particular emphasis on cutting‑edge fields such as cell and gene therapy (CGT), while further strengthening healthcare collaboration across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
