SYSU received official GLP certificate issued by China Food and Drug Administration

On December 11, 2013, Center of Drug Safety Evaluation (CDSE), School of Pharmaceutical Sciences (SPS), Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) received the official GLP certificate (GLP13007057) issued by China Food and Drug Administration. 

CDSE is sponsored by SPS and the Laboratory Animal Center of Sun Yat-sen University, and supported by grants from “211” and "985" programs. CDSE aims to establish a full-service non-clinical facility offering a wide array of efficacy, ADME and toxicological studies in supporting new drug investigations from domestic and international institutions. Professor Huang Zhiying is appointed as the director of the center. The center occupying 3,000m2 area was designed with international standard and in compliance with GLP requirements. The facility consists of SPF animal care (1,000m2 area) for rodent animals (rats, mice, and guinea pigs), conventional animal care (1000m2 area) for non-rodent animals (Beagle dogs, and rabbits), facility for environmental automatic monitor, clinical pathology, pathology, general toxicology, immunology, safety pharmacology, reproductive toxicology, genotoxicology, toxicokinetics, molecular biology, archive, specimen storage, test article storage, general management, QAU, and IT center. The Center is also equipped with advanced instruments for drug screening, safety evaluations, and other scientific studies.
