During Feb 23-24, hosted by Chinese Academy of Sciences Bureau and organized by Sun Yat-sen University, the 17th Session of the 14th Standing Committee Meeting of Chinese Academy of Sciences Life Science and Medical Department was held in Guangzhou. Academician Lin Qishei, Director of Life Science and Medical Department of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Academician Chen Zhu, Minister of Health, Academician Li Jiayang, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Academician Shen Yan, Deputy Director of National Natural Science Foundation, as well as others altogether 19 academicians and 30 members from Chinese Academy of Sciences Work Bureau, including Director Zhou Jinde attended the meeting.


Commissioned by Life Science and Medical Department of Chinese Academy of Sciences, the meeting was organized by Sun Yat-sen University. The meeting complied with high standards and demands. The university also attached great importance to it and Vice-president Xu Anlong conducted the arrangement and reception himself. The principal's office of Medical Sciences, Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital, School of Life Sciences, Cancer Prevention and Treatment Center had made detailed arrangements on services, logistics, reception, health care, publicity and other work. The event personnel cooperated with each other and offered attentive service to ensure the smooth progress of the meeting, and they were highly praised by the academicians and the participants.
