Beyond the brochure: SYSU Open Day unveils in-depth campus exploration

Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) held its annual Open Day at the South Campus of Guangzhou Campus on June 22, with concurrent events at Zhuhai and Shenzhen Campuses on June 21. Thousands of prospective students and parents nationwide immersed themselves in the university’s academic landscape and campus culture.

A Hub for Academic Exploration

The open day featured dynamic interactions, with nearly 70 departments, administrative offices, and student associations, alongside over 50 universities nationwide, setting up information booths and exhibition panels along Yixian Road. Visitors engaged directly with faculty members and current students, gaining in-depth knowledge about academic programs, admission policies, and campus life.

Immersive Experiences in Campus Culture

Visitors toured iconic landmarks such as Sun Yat-sen’s Bronze Statue and the University Library, and explored exhibitions at the University Museum and Biological Museum. A campus bazaar highlighted academic publications, cultural and creative products, and student club activities, showcasing the university’s blend of scholarly rigor and artistic vitality.

Beyond the tours, visitors savored diverse cuisines at Campus canteens, diverse cuisines at campus canteens. The Songtaoyuan Canteen’s owl-themed graduation carnival added a festive touch, combining culinary delights with celebratory atmosphere, and offering a taste of daily life at SYSU.
