Prof. Lin obtained his medical Master degree at Beijing Medical University in 1986 and received post-doc training on chemical carcinogenesis and molecular epidemiology at WHO International Agency for Cancer Research (Lyon, France) and FDA National Center for Toxicological Research (Arkansas, USA) from 1989 to 1994. He started to serve as associate professor from 1995 and full professor from 1997 in the Department of Etiology & Carcinogenesis, Cancer Institute, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College. He was elected as academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2013. Prof. Lin have been serving as joint Professor at Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center since 2015.
He has been working on cancer genetics and genomics, especially on esophageal cancer and pancreatic cancer with more than 260 publications in peer-reviewed journals including Nature, Nature Genetics, Cancer Cell, Cell Metabolism, etc. He has been honored with awards for his research work including the National Natural Science Award in 2006, the National Prize for Progress in Science and Technology in 2008, the National Natural Science Award in 2013, the National Prize for Progress in Science and Technology in 2013, etc.
Research interests
Molecular mechanism of tumorigenesis and genetic susceptibility of cancer; gene-environment interaction in cancer; the effect of genomic alterations on cancer treatment.
