Biography

Liu Chenggong

Secretary of the CPC Sun Yat-sen University Committee

Liu Chenggong, male, Han ethnicity, born in 1968, is a member of the Communist Party of China (CPC). He joined the workforce in August 1993. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy, and is a Research Fellow.

From 1986 to 1993, he studied at the Department of Philosophy of Fudan University, and received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees. In 2001, he graduated with a PhD degree in Marxist Philosophy from the Department of Philosophy, Fudan University. In 2003 and 2004, he was a visiting scholar to Macquarie University in Australia and then Valparaiso University in the United States.

From 1993 to 2019, he successively served as a faculty member, Deputy Secretary of the General Party Branch and Deputy Director of the Department of Philosophy of Fudan University; Deputy Director of the Political Research Office of the CPC Yangpu District Committee in Shanghai (on secondment); Deputy Head of the Student Affairs Department of the CPC Fudan University Committee; Deputy Director (in charge of overall work), and later Director, of the Research Office at Fudan University; Director of Discipline Development Office and Office of the President at Fudan University; and Deputy Secretary of the CPC Fudan University Committee and Dean of the School of Marxism at Fudan University. He has served as Secretary of the CPC Donghua University Committee since June 2019.

In November 2025, he was appointed as Secretary of the CPC Sun Yat-sen University Committee.
