PhD candidate Hui LI, who has studied under the supervision of Professor Dong-zi YANG since 2014 and majors in reproductive endocrinology in Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University, has recently won the Best Oral Presentation Award in the 6th Congress Of the Asia Pacific Initiative on Reproduction (ASPIRE) held in Jakarta Conference Center in Indonesia from 8th to 10th April, 2016.
Many famous professors and medical experts in reproductive endocrinology and assisted reproductive technology from more than 10 countries gathered in the 6th ASPIRE and communicated extensively in the field of basic researches and clinical studies of reproduction. The 6th ASPIRE also attracted many young doctors and experts from countries including Australia, New Zealand, USA, Japan, Korea, China, India, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, etc. Hui LI, PhD candidate in Class 2014 of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University, won the Best Oral Presentation Award for the report entitled
“Metabolic disorders is independent of Polycystic ovary syndrome reproductive phenotypes in Southern China”. Among the three persons winning Best Oral Presentation Award, Hui LI is the only winner from China.
PhD candidate Hui LI at the 6th ASPIRE
Hui LI got her Bachelor’s Degree in the School of Public Health of Sun Yat-sen University in 2003, and Master’s Degree of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Sun Yat-Sen University in 2006. Then she worked in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University until 2014. In July 2014, Hui LI was admitted to the Reproductive Center of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, and studied after Professor Dong-zi YANG for PhD. Her major is polycystic ovary syndrome. Hui LI expressed deep gratitude for the guidance of her supervisor Prof. YANG and the help from all the teachers and classmates. She also attributed her award to the achievements of team work led by Prof. YANG. Hui LI said that she would keep working on her research and hopefully realize her medical ambition one day.
Prof. YANG felt very glad when hearing about the news. She was also inspired by the fact that the achievements of her team was approved by international experts and professors. Prof. YANG anticipated that her students would make more achievements in the field of polycystic ovary syndrome.
The Graduate School of Sun Yat-sen University and the Graduate Office of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital congratulated Prof. YANG and Hui LI on their achievements, encouraged all young doctors and students to actively participate in scientific researches and academic activities, and wished more young scholars would win scientific honors for the university and even the nation.
