On the evening of April 27, Professor Huang Dongfeng arrived in Chengdu, Sichuan. The next morning he arrived at Ya’an, the frontline of quake relief. The expert group would focus on screening for patients in urgent need of rehabilitation and provide rehabilitation treatment and guidance.
The Ya’an earthquake has caused great loss of life and property. In order to provide medical rescue and relief for the quake-hit area and ensure the safety of the people, upon receiving the notice from the Department of Medical Administration of National Health and Family Planning Commission, The First Affiliated Hospital immediately launched the medical rescue contingency plan for unexpected public events on the day of the earthquake. Two medical relief teams were promptly set up and were ready to head to the quake-stricken area for medical rescue and relief work.
