For the purposes of enhancing the education in clinical research and further regulating the behavior as well as improving the quality and level of clinical research, the China Diabetes Clinical Research Training Program, which was hosted by Sun Yat-sen University in cooperation with MSD (China) Investment Co., Ltd. under the generous support of Chinese Medical Association (CMA), was successfully held in two sessions with one in Beijing (Jan. 11- 13) and the other in Guangzhou (Jan. 15 -17). More than 300 clinicians from over 200 hospitals nationwide participated in the program.

Taking the opportunity of the Diabetes Strategy Clinical Research jointly led by MSD and the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, the program was aimed to train clinicians in various aspects including Good Clinical Practice (GCP), clinical trial design, writing and publishing research papers, and clinical research management.

Experts in clinical research from Sun Yat-sen University, Peking Union Medical College Hospital, and MSD were invited to give lectures. As a public welfare program, it not only broadened the researchers’ relevant knowledge but also improved their ability to conduct clinical research. It was of significant importance to train professionals in diabetes treatment in China, and at the same time, it further increased the national influence of SYSU clinical research.
