The School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) officially launched the Yinghua Fellowship — Innovation & Entrepreneurship: Greater Bay Area Global Bootcamp and the 3rd Global Leadership Program on July 15, aiming to cultivate globally competent leaders and entrepreneurs.
Supported by the Guoqiang Foundation and co-organized with Mingyang Smart Energy Group, the two-week program leverages the dynamic innovation ecosystem of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) to provide students from China and around the world with an immersive platform for cross-cultural collaboration, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
Running from July 15 to 30, the program brings together 46 outstanding students from China, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Australia, Singapore, India, and beyond. Participants represent leading global institutions, including the University of Cambridge, the National University of Singapore, The Australian National University, EBS University of Business and Law, KEDGE Business School, the University of Hong Kong, and Sun Yat-sen University. Spanning diverse disciplines—from business and engineering to humanities and social sciences—students have been grouped into multicultural teams to tackle industrial challenges.
Focusing on cutting-edge sectors such as artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing, renewable energy, and new materials, the program is built around real-world business challenges provided by Mingyang Smart Energy Group. Through a combination of keynote lectures, corporate visits, project-based learning, and innovation challenges, participants work across cultural and disciplinary boundaries to formulate actionable business solutions.
During the two-week program, participants visited major innovation hubs across the Greater Bay Area and beyond, with stops in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhongshan, Foshan, and Yangjiang. They toured leading enterprises such as Mingyang Smart Energy, Insta360, XPENG AEROHT, Country Garden, and Haitian Flavoring & Food. The program concluded with a final pitch, where student teams presented their innovative solutions to a panel of academic and industry experts.
As Sun Yat-sen University brings these 46 students together from around the world in pursuit of shared innovation, the bootcamp offers a glimpse into the power of youth collaboration. Through hands-on problem solving and open dialogue, the Yinghua Fellowship continues to bridge talent across oceans, equipping future leaders with a global perspective and the capabilities to address complex challenges.
