The Cold Spring Harbor meeting on Fundamental Immunology & Its Therapeutic Potential was held in Long Island, NY from April 14 to 18, 2015. That meeting invited experts in the field of immunology all over the world. They gave speeches on the fundamental immunity, tumor immunity, infection immunity, innate immunity and autoimmunity. More than 50 % speakers are members of the United States National Academy of Sciences or researchers from The Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Professor Song Guo Zheng from The Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU), the only scholar from China, was invited to give a talk in the session of autoimmunity. He presented the relationship between BAFF signal, Tfh cells and autoimmune diseases. This finding was highly highlighted in the discussion by international peers.

Professor Zheng attended The American Association of Immunologists (AAI) Annual Meeting in New Orleans in early May. AAI was established in 1913, and it is the authority association in the field of immunology. Professor Zheng as the representative of five Chinese immunologists, has done three academic reports to show the achievements of immunology in China. As the leading scientist who discovered the Foxp3+ induced regulatory T (Treg) cells, Professor Zheng introduced the updates of stability of Treg cells, the relationship between BAFF signal and Tfh cell development, and the mechanism of GMSC in the treatment of autoimmune arthritis. These studies represent the internationally advanced level in the field of Immunology, which has drawn international peers' attention.
