On March 26th, a delegation of four from Guanghua School of Stomatology, Sun Yat-sen University visited the University of Minnesota on invitation. The two sides reached preliminary consensuses on cooperation in scientific research and academic exchanges.

During the visit, Professor Ling Junqi, Dean of Guanghua School of Stomatology, visited the School of Dentistry and the Minnesota Dental Research Center for Biomaterials and Biomechanics (MDRCBB). Accompanied by Dr. Leon Assael, Dean of the School of Dentistry, Dean Ling Junqi also paid a visit to Professor Eric Kaler, President of the University of Minnesota. The two sides had a warm discussion, expressed the hope of active cooperation in the future, and achieved initial intent of cooperation in scientific research and clinical training. Guanghua School of Stomatology will send backbone teachers in the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Department and Prosthodontics Department to the University of Minnesota to conduct collaborative research and receive clinical training.

As one of the important agenda of the visit, the delegation paid a special visit to the MDRCBB. The research center has advanced instruments and a high-level research team. Professor Alex Fok, Director of MDRCBB and a guest professor in Guanghua School of Stomatology, has been to Guangzhou several times for academic exchanges. During the visit, the two sides had in-depth discussion on research subjects and further collaborations.
