On March 15, Guangzhou Baiyun District Education Bureau, Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center of Sun Yat-sen University and Guangzhou Primary & Middle School Health Care Office co-organized a teenagers myopia prevention and control proper technology training class in the New World School of the Affiliated High School of South China Normal University. Experts from Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center of Sun Yat-sen University gave lectures and trained over 200 school doctors and health teachers from primary and junior middle schools in Baiyun District.

It is learned that the training is a part of the eye health popular science education activity for primary and middle school students in Guangzhou. The activity is a public health knowledge popularization program for myopia prevention sponsored by Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center of Sun Yat-sen University and Guangzhou Primary & Middle School Health Care Office.

The program plans to train 800 to 1,000 school doctors and popular science teachers in primary and middle schools in Guangzhou within 3 years. It will also establish practice base for popularizing ophthalmic public health knowledge in 100 primary and middle schools in Guangzhou.
