With the improvement of the academic standing of the dialysis center of the First Affiliated Hospital of SYSU in recent years, more and more people have paid visits to the center. On May 30th, the Ministry of Public Health of Thailand sent 39 Peritoneal dialysis specialists and nursing experts to the peritoneal dialysis center of the First Affiliated Hospital of SYSU to have a study tour and to promote communications with the hope of enhancing the professional skills of Peritoneal dialysis workers.

Ren Yangxiao, director of the department of nephrology warmly received his Thai colleagues. Professor Mao Haiping, also deputy director of the department gave the guests a brief introduction about the administration, education & follow-up visits of the patients and scientific research of the peritoneal dialysis center. The guests also visited the peritoneal dialysis center, hemodialysis center and nephrology laboratory. After that, the Thai experts had in-depth communications with the staff of peritoneal dialysis center. Professor Ren Yangxiao gave a speech on “Key Factors for A Successful Peritoneal Dialysis Program”, giving a detailed introduction about the experience of success in medical treatment, nursing, patient administration and scientific research in the peritoneal dialysis center of their department.

The Thai colleagues highly commended the achievements dialysis center has made in patient administration, medical treatment, nursing, scientific research. They also anticipated sending more medical staff to study in the dialysis center of the First Affiliated Hospital of SYSU in order to meet the needs of the uremia patients and dialysis treatment in Thailand.
